Dropbox has made a post-Covid commitment to remote working. The company has announced that it will let all employees work remotely or flexibly permanently. Their current office space will become a co-working space, where workers can choose to work from if they wish.
As the latest global social media network with over 2.6 billion monthly users, Facebook has a lot of workers.
The social network has announced that it will allow half of its eligible employees to work remotely permanently. However, the rest of its workers will remain working from home until July 2021.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg mentioned the perks of hiring a distributed team on a livestream in May 2020: “When you limit hiring to people who live in a small number of big cities, or who are willing to move there, that cuts out a lot of people who live in different communities, have different backgrounds, have different perspectives.”
So Facebook may even extend their remote working policy further…

Twitter employees will be able to work remotely indefinitely, whilst still having the flexibility to go into the physical office if they need.
In a statement shared on 12th May 2020, Jennifer Christie, Twitter’s VP, People said “If our employees are in a role and situation that enables them to work from home and they want to continue to do so forever, we will make that happen.”
CEO Rich Barton declared Zillow’s temporary work from home plans in April 2020. Whilst the company was only meant to remain remote until the end of 2020, in July 2020 Zillow has extended their plans indefinitely.
Zillow’s Chief People Officer, Dan Spaulding, announced in a blog post that by offering over 90% of employees the flexibility to work from home, at least part-time, workers will be given the option to work from wherever they feel most productive.
Now Zillow employees are able to work from home permanently if they desire to do so.
HubSpot’s always been known for its flexible approach to working. However, on 19th August 2020 the marketing, sales, and service software company declared that they would be dropping the ‘ish’ from their ‘remote-ish approach.
Katie Burke, Chief People Officer, announced in a blog post that Hubspot is ‘going to shift to a hybrid remote-office model where career growth is equitable for everyone, whether you do your best work in an office or in a home office.’
